Selling from outside the UK?
Chonk aims to connect overseas growers with UK plant buyers. You can browse current adverts and contact sellers about their own delivery arrangements. Structured dispatch-country selection and Chonk import-service matching are not available yet.
Selling and importing are different roles. Our planned service directory would help buyers find independent providers for their route. It would not make Chonk the importer.

We’re planning a place for independent importing and rehab skills. You would not need to sell plants on Chonk to take part.
Already import plants?
A buyer may find a plant overseas but not know how to import it. The planned directory would help them find an independent provider to do the importing.
The plan is for providers to choose their routes, sellers, plants, capacity, availability, price and requests.

Interested in importing?What should an import price include?
Explain what your fee covers. International freight, phytosanitary or other documentation, inspection and plant-health charges, customs clearance and onward delivery may cost extra. Make any additional costs clear before a buyer agrees.
Good at bringing stressed plants back?
Plant rehab is skilled care and acclimatisation: helping plants adjust after a difficult journey. The planned service would let buyers choose it separately from importing.
Providers would choose the plants they accept, capacity, availability, usual care period, price and bookings.

Rehab does not guarantee survival. Plants may arrive stressed or damaged. Record their condition on arrival and raise problems directly with the people involved.

Plant adverts
Under current plant checkout rules, the buyer pays a 10% Chonk fee on the plant price. The seller receives their plant price and agreed postage; there is no seller commission in that calculation.
Planned specialist service pricing
The planned model is 10% provider commission and a separate 10% buyer service charge. Service booking and payment are not available yet. The example is illustrative, not an offer.
Who does what?
You
Choose what you sell, set prices and describe it accurately. Agree delivery, communicate important changes and follow requirements that apply to your activity. Future providers would remain responsible for their services.
Chonk
Provides plant adverts, helps buyers find you and supports seller enquiries. Existing Chonk plant payment, support and dispute processes apply only where currently offered. Specialist service booking and payment are planned, not available.
Chonk provides the marketplace. You remain responsible for the plants you sell and the services you provide.
How specialist provider recruitment is planned to work
Apply → Chonk reviews → create your service → accept eligible bookings.
This process is not open yet. We plan to reuse existing Chonk accounts and ask only for relevant service information.
Chonk review would not be government approval or a guarantee of import success.

Do I have to accept every booking?
No. The planned service model lets providers choose which requests to accept.
Who sets my price?
You set your plant prices. Future providers would also set their service prices.
Do I need a shop?
No. Collectors, home-based sellers and small businesses are welcome, alongside established nurseries.
Do I need to sell plants to offer a service?
No. The planned provider system is separate from selling plants. Applications are not open yet.
Can I choose which countries and sellers I work with?
That is part of the planned import-service model. Route and booking management are not open yet.
What does Chonk charge?
Advertising is free. The planned service model includes 10% provider commission and a separate 10% buyer service charge; it is not live yet. Current plant checkout instead charges the buyer 10% on the plant price, with no seller commission. See the breakdown.
What if an imported plant arrives damaged?
Record its condition and contact the seller or provider responsible for your arrangement. The applicable transaction terms and dispute process determine what happens next.
Does rehab guarantee survival?
No. It provides skilled care and acclimatisation, not a guarantee that a stressed or damaged plant will survive.
When do I get paid?
Existing Chonk-paid plant purchases follow their receipt and dispute rules. Direct arrangements are agreed with the buyer. Specialist service payments are not available yet; no payout date is promised here.
