COMPLAINTS & APPEALS
Tell Chonk what needs attention.
Use this process for unsafe or illegal content, member conduct, privacy issues and moderation appeals.
Report content or conduct
Use a report control on the relevant advert where available, or use the form below. Include the URL, what happened, why it may be illegal, unsafe or against the rules, and safe supporting information.
What happens next?
- Chonk records the complaint and checks the available content and account history.
- A moderator assesses urgency and may ask for more information.
- Possible outcomes include no action, advice, a warning, advert removal, account restriction, evidence preservation or referral to an authority.
- The decision, reason and any appeal are kept in the moderation record.
Chonk aims to acknowledge and resolve complaints promptly. Timing depends on urgency, evidence and whether outside authorities must be involved.
Appeal a decision
An affected member should appeal promptly. Choose “Appeal a moderation decision”, include the case reference, explain why the decision was wrong or disproportionate, and add new evidence. Where practical, a different moderator reviews the appeal.
Further complaints
Privacy complaints may also be made to the Information Commissioner’s Office. Online-safety concerns may be raised with Ofcom after first complaining to Chonk. Emergency and criminal matters should be reported to the appropriate public authority.
Email is accepted
You can use an ordinary email instead of the form. Write to hello@chonkmarket.com. Include a relevant page, advert or order reference where available, but do not send card details, passwords or unrelated identity documents.
For a privacy complaint, say what information or use concerns you and how you would like it corrected. Writing “Privacy complaint” in the subject can help route it, but Chonk will not reject the complaint because you use different words. Using Chonk's process does not remove your right to contact the Information Commissioner's Office.
