Direct Classifieds arrangements

Members can message a Classifieds seller and arrange payment and handover directly. Chonk does not charge a transaction fee for that arrangement and does not control or hold the payment. Any protection comes from the chosen payment method, the seller's obligations and applicable law.

Classifieds and auction checkout

Some eligible fixed-price adverts and completed auctions may offer a separate Chonk checkout. The exact price, service charge, delivery and payment-release rules are shown before payment and in the Purchase and seller payment terms. Those terms describe the existing 10% charge and private-sale release process where that checkout is available.

Chonk checkout is not escrow, insurance or a guarantee. A Stripe return page or payment screenshot is not proof that an order has been paid.

Chonk Mall

Chonk Mall has its own seller, order and payment controls. Classifieds and auction fees or release rules do not carry across to Mall. Mall shows whether purchasing is available; do not pay a Mall seller outside the route shown for that order.

Plant Pals

Plant Pals is not a purchase service. Participants send something from their own collection or plant supplies and pay the postage for the box they send. Plant Pals does not inherit checkout fees or payment protection.

Before paying

• Confirm the item, seller, delivery method and complete total.
• Use only the payment route shown for that advert or order.
• Never send a password, card number or security code in a message.
• Keep the order reference and report a problem through the relevant order or Help & Contact.
