PLANT PALS
A surprise, with a real commitment.
Plant Pals is separate from buying and selling. Join only if you are willing to send, pay the postage and share the necessary delivery details with a committed sender.
Joining and choosing
Your plant interests, wishes, things you cannot receive and optional note help another member choose what to send. Do not put an address, email or phone number in those public-to-members fields.
You can choose a Plant Pal. If you have not chosen after one week, Chonk may assign one subject to availability, but only after you have expressly joined and accepted that arrangement.
Sending commitment
Confirming a Plant Pal is a commitment to send their box within seven days and pay the postage. The current service asks senders to use Royal Mail Tracked 24, Medium Parcel. The contents are a surprise from your own collection or plant supplies; there is no need to buy a gift.
Do not send prohibited, unsafe, infested or unsuitable material. Follow the plant-health and postal rules that apply to what you send.
Delivery details and privacy
Your address is not public. Chonk gives it only to the member who has committed to sending your parcel. Address access is for that parcel only. Keep addresses, postage labels and other private details out of Noticeboard photos.
The full data-handling explanation is in the Plant Pals section of the Privacy Notice.
Receiving and sharing
Mark a parcel received when it arrives. Sending something back to the same person is optional. Sharing a received box on the public Noticeboard is also optional and requires a separate publishing action.
Problems
Use Plant Pals' report controls or Help & Contact if a serious problem arises. Chonk may end access to delivery details or cancel an unfinished parcel where needed to protect participants.
